Annual Chili Chase 5K Run/Walk Belleville, IL

In October I ran my first race of the year.  I had hoped to get some more races this year but time and hip pain have slowed me down a bit.  Needless to say it was great to get out and take part in a small 5K around our downtown area.

The temperature was chilly, of course, but at least the sun was shining.

I had the opportunity to run the race with two coworkers, Elizabeth and Jenni,  who have just begun their running journey.  They both did a fantastic job and I think they both have been bit by the running bug.  Let’s hope so!

The course was through the older part of the town so lots of cobblestone roads which made it difficult to run without looking at the ground at times.

Run Jenni run.

The run went smooth and I had minimal hip pain.  In the end I would say it was a good morning for a run and everyone had a great time.

We even had another coworker, Bryan, show up to support us after he finished his run.  I think his race shirt was a lot cooler than the one we got.

And now for the cheesy part of the blog ~ I came in 2nd for the 45-49 gals.  Sweet!  Happy Miles to you!

    • Oops I meant I have 9,000 and some change to go ~ lol maybe 4 more years or so. I’m really loving the riding and plan to do more of that soon. It’s better on my hip which unfortunately has been giving me trouble this year.

  1. Oh. I misunderstood. Sorry.
Ya, that’s why I like cycling. I have a knee and hip issue as well. Can’t run any more. Even walking can be a problem but I can cycle for hours. It seems the body wears out like everything else.
