Mileage Recap ~ 15 – 30 June…Well That Blew By Quickly!

Hi everyone, I hope this finds you well. The months are just flying by! I continue to telework from home, hoping that as DC moves into phase 3, I will be returning to the office soon. It’s hard to believe July is here already!

I’ve been keeping busy with riding and hiking around the VA and MD area. June was a pretty good month with the most miles in a month this year. I’m hoping to continue this upward tick. Mo miles means mo closer to my goal.

I finally broke down and cleaned my chain on my bike:

There is a certain satisfaction you get from a clean chain. LOL, it’s weird but I love looking at this.

Some more pictures on the trail:

Longest ride this month came to 20.07 miles. I plan on slowly increasing weekly. Prince William Forest Park is now open, with parking! Always a plus.

I completed 158.54 miles for the month of June and have 3332.85 miles gratefully remaining in my journey. I can feel that 3k about to be broken!

I hope this post finds you in good spirits and safe. Happy Miles to You!

Summer nights are the best:

Mileage Recap ~ 26 Apr – 21 May

Happy Friday! It’s Friday right? Hard to tell the days apart sometimes with my new quarantine life. I hope this finds everyone well. I see WordPress has changed its lay out. I don’t mind change, but damn…something new to get used to and learn. So not sure how this is going to turn out once I post. Something tells me that there is going to be a learning curve here.

Although quarantine is still happening, I continue to get some miles in and begin training for my upcoming half marathon in Montreal (so far still happening) and cycling season.

My standouts for this time spread was a great 16 and some change hike on the Mt. Vernon trail. Had a couple of good weather days and was able to get out for hike, small picnic then hiked back. The only problem…no facilities open. Let’s just say the woods were being utilized. The police were out ensuring everyone was social distancing. Everyone has been in for so long that once the sun is out there is a mass exodus. I have to say I was nice seeing people out. A lot of people were doing normal indoor activities outside. It’s funny how it takes something like this to make you appreciate nature and the outside.

This was the path up one way.

I was able to get 71.81 miles with 3532.84 miles gratefully remaining. I hope this finds you well and in a great state of mind. This too shall pass…. Happy Miles to You!!
